It's hard to overlook the bad here. Take out the Birds of Prey, and you have a bad crime story that's forgettable in every way.

Birds of Prey is pretty much just a copy of that book. This book is a collection of short stories about serial killers, same as Serial Killers Uncut.

It is not a novella. As far as I can tell, there are only 2 very short stories in Birds of of Prey which are not included in Serial Killers Uncut/5. Although Birds of Prey was readable, I found it a bit simplistic for my taste. The characters seemed one-dimensional and underdeveloped. Since this book is a long ways from the beginning of the series I would have expected more character development This is several books into a series about Seattle police detective J.P Beaumont.4/5.

Hardin’s penciling is rather remarkable for depicting faces and their emotions. All in all, Birds of Prey: Harley Quinn is a wonderful collection of issues that gives a nice, but brief introduction to the redefined Harley Quinn of the rebooted DC Universe.
